I am a Massage Therapist, certified by the San Francisco School of Massage, and began practicing bodywork in 2006. Originally licensed by the City of San Francisco, I am now practicing in Ann Arbor, licensed by the state of Michigan, and doing business as Massage Therapy by Patti.
I am a certified member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals), have nearly 600 hours of training, and acquire new insight and technique through continuing education.
My studio location is in western Ann Arbor, just off of W. Stadium Blvd. at 1945 Pauline Blvd., Ste. 15 (inside the 2-story building on the lot, main level).
Plenty of free parking is available.
I offer bodywork in various modalities...
--Swedish Massage -- The most typical and popular modality of massage, intended to bring nourishment to the tissues, deep relaxation to the muscles and calmness to the mind.
--DeepTissue and integrative bodywork -- Deep Tissue massage is available, however, I often implement elements of Deep Tissue and other various bodywork modalities (e.g., trigger point, Thai, stretching, etc.) together within my Swedish massage sessions in order to focus on specific areas of concern (...depending on client's preference). I most often find that when most people request "deep tissue massage," they are actually wanting a full body massage with deep pressure. (An actual full body deep tissue massage would require a number of hours and would have very little if any of the element of relaxation.)
I believe bodywork is an ongoing and shared learning process between client & therapist, allowing for growth and discovery of one’s unique self. I look forward to working with you!
[*Please Note: Draping is required. NO "sensual," "erotic," or any otherwise sexual massage service is offered.]
--Specialized bodywork or Touch Therapy on an Out-Call Basis -- I travel to private residences, hospitals or facilities in the area to work with the elderly or others who are impaired or medically frail... anyone with restricted range of motion (in bed, in wheelchair).
This intensely focused yet gentle, soothing work can be beneficial to your loved one in helping to increase circulation, exercise unused/atrophied muscles, help reduce cramping & spasms, as well as having a calming effect emotionally.
--Acutely focused work with patients in Hospice Care.
Mon-Sat, 11AM - 5PM, usually last appointment ending by 5 or 5:30. I can accomodate consistent clients with somewhat later session times.
